Preparing Young Men for Excellence: XJA's Summer Institute Return for Year Two

Xavier Jesuit Academy's Summer Institute returns for its second year, bringing together students for an intensive two-week program from July 21-25 and July 28-August 1. This mandatory program bridges the summer learning gap while deepening community bonds through cura personalis and cura apostolica.

Drawing inspiration from St. Xavier High School's Companion Scholars program, Summer Institute follows a structured daily rhythm. Mornings focus on reading, math, science, and art, while afternoons emphasize community building, religious formation, and introduction to the "XJA Way." This year's expansion includes a new class of third graders, demonstrating our growing impact in Bond Hill.

The program culminates with St. Ignatius of Loyola's Feast Day on July 31st, connecting students to our founder's legacy. Community partnerships with Cincinnati Vibrant Youth Project, Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund for Chess in Schools, New Leaf Kitchen, and Xavier University Department of Sport Science and Management, and Xavier University Men's Soccer Program demonstrate education through collaboration.

Taking place at Xavier University's Health United Building, Summer Institute represents more than academic preparation - it's an investment in transformative community. For returning students, it offers a chance to recommit to excellence and welcome new brothers. For newcomers, it provides introduction to the high expectations and deep care that define XJA, strengthening the brotherhood where young men flourish.
